"Resign? You dare to resign?"
Alok stood in the center of the conference room, tie loosened, swirling half a glass of whiskey, laughing wildly. "Brother, do you still think this company answers to you? The board passed the resolution five hours ago—I, Ashok Pandey’s own younger brother, am about to take over as CEO."
He raised his phone. A projection flickered to life, casting a document onto the white wall: *Resolution on Removal of Ashok’s Position and Appointment of Alok as Interim President*. Their mother collapsed into her chair. His sister shot to her feet. "Alok! Have you lost your mind? That's your brother!"
On the other end of the line, Ashok’s voice remained calm—like the last gentle breeze before a storm.
"I see," he said quietly, then hung up.
The next moment, the office door swung open.
Ashok walked in. Impeccable in a brown suit, his polished shoes making no sound on the carpet. His right hand hung at his side, fingers slightly whitened as they gripped a black leather whip—the family heirloom his father once used to discipline disobedient sons.
Silence swallowed the room.
Alok’s grin hadn’t time to fade before it was shattered by a sharp crack.
*Snap!*
The whip lashed against the edge of the conference table, splintering wood.
"Tell me," Ashok advanced step by step, eyes cold enough to frost the air, "who truly rules here?"
Alok stumbled back, knocking over his chair. His phone slipped from his hand, hitting the floor with a crack—its broken screen reflecting his own distorted face.
"You… what are you doing? I’m the CEO! I’ve got security, judges, cops all lined up!"
Ashok bent down, picked up the phone, and gently traced the jagged fissure across the display.
"Yes," he murmured. "But you forgot one thing—every inch of this company, from foundation to rooftop, every steel beam and concrete slab, was built by my hands, brick by brick."
He lifted his gaze, sweeping past his trembling mother, his sobbing sister, and locking onto his brother’s ashen face.
"And you… can’t even hold a pen steady."
Before the words fully faded, he seized Alok by the tie and slammed him hard onto the long table.
*Crash!*
Glass exploded, papers scattering like snowflakes.
The camera slowly pulled back.
Outside, rain poured in sheets. Lightning split the sky, illuminating an old, yellowed photograph on the wall—the young father holding both sons’ hands at the company’s groundbreaking ceremony.
